First Look: Hot Wheels Retro Entertainment Jetson's Capsule Car...

Today is dedicated to the latest batch of Hot Wheels Retro Entertainment.  Yesterday we showcased the gem of the batch, the Hart to Hart Ferrari Dino, but there were four others.

If you have read our articles on Retro Entertainment, you know that we are more interested in the cars than the movies they represent.  Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of bland cars that were made famous by movies, and I would love to see them all (Walter White's Aztek, Jesse Pinkman's Tercel, Jerry Lundegaard's tan Cutlass Ciera), but this is also an opportunity to do some very cool cars.

The Jetson's Capsule Car fits in no such category.  Not a real car, based on a car.  Consider our showcase of this model a public service.  Many of you want to see it, so we will show it, but this is a model we could care less about.

The only news here is that this model sits on a stand instead of wheels.  Crazy.

First Look: Hot Wheels Jetson's Capsule Car...

Full disclosure:

I just want to get this model out of the way.  Coming off a weekend where I attended my favorite car show and got to enjoy the ins and outs of why I collect toy cars in the first place, it is bit rough to return and show images of a cartoon car.

But I will, because we are all curious.

So here it is, the Jetson's Capsule Car.  One of the models that gets certain collectors all tizzied up because it is different, which will in turn make them scoop up everyone they find.  And soon they will have a stash that they won't know what to do with.  I throw this in with the Flintstones car, the Mystery Machine, and a few others (but not KITT.  KITT is cool).  These are models that I get why they are done, but there is nothing in me that connects with them.

All I remember about the Jetson's is always turning the channel when it was on.  I don't know if I have ever watched a full episode.  But that is me, you are you, and you may like it.  So here it is.

The only thing I find interesting?  The model is clearly made to intertwine two different bases.  One with wheels and one without.  That should make it easy enough to switch the model to the no-wheel version for upcoming Retro in 2014.  There was that interesting enough?

Moving on...
