First Look: Hot Wheels Pop Culture Star Trek 1988 Jeep Wagoneer...
I have exactly one Jeep in the Lamley collection.
Considering how many diecast Jeeps have been made, that is not a lot. I am not what you would call a Jeep fan. I can appreciate a good Jeep, especially its heritage, but other than that I am not much of a fan.
Except for the Wagoneer. I love the Jeep Wagoneer. The true godfather of the American SUV, it barely changed over its lifespan. It is, and always will be, very easy on the eyes.
So we were very happy to see the Wagoneer debut in the Hot Wheels Boulevard line last year. It wasn't easy to find, but worth making an effort to obtain. Some didn't like the high stance, but other than that the model was fantastic.
Well, it has returned, this time in the Pop Culture line. It doesn't have the cool wood paneling of the Boulevard, instead it is purple and has cartoons on it. Maybe not ideal for the typical Lamley reader, but it is a casting we like, and we have, so we are showing it.
There is not much to say about the model. The purpose of these seems to be to stay in the package. The card artwork clearly stands out compared to the model. That isn't why we collect, so we don't give the Pop Culture models too much creedence. But this is a model we really like, so here it is...
(Find the Pop Culture Star Trek line on ebay...)
