First Look: 2014 Hot Wheels Hurst '70 Chevelle SS Wagon...
Instead of blabbering on about how great this model is (It is great. Best version yet. Awesome choice of liveries by Hot Wheels), we will use it to plead with our friends at Matchbox...
Um...hi...I was wondering...COULD YOU PLEASE DO THIS MODEL ALREADY!!!!!
Or if you want to keep it simple, this one:
I mean, come on!?! I am whining here! The Matchbox Olds Vista Cruiser was a hit the second it was released. It was a great choice for a Matchbox model, and it was very well executed. We saw several nice versions, but then it vanished.
How about bringing it back as part of the 2015 premium line you guys are thinking about? And how about bringing it back with big loud bang? I mean, it works perfectly. It says "Pace Car", but it is the medical director's car. That means it is a utility car, not a racing car. It makes sense.
Ah, but Mr. Matchbox, you might say that it all sounds good, but we would have to license with Hurst. Yes, that is true. But you already have! Looks what Hot Wheels just released? What is it, the 3rd, or 4th, or 10th model in Hurst livery? Mattel clearly has a relationship, and I have to imagine the folks at Hurst would love to see their iconic Indy 500 Cruiser Wagon show up in small scale.
So much in fact that they approved Hot Wheels to put the Hurst logo on a wagon. It is obvious that the Chevelle SS Wagon is paying homage to the Vista Cruiser, but how frustrating is that homage when Mattel's other diecast brand has a tool of that exact car?
We can fix this friends. Let's take that simple but sharp Hurst logo and make the best Vista Cruiser yet. I am giving you two years...
