First Look: Matchbox 60th Anniversary Porsche 911 GT3...

When you say "Matchbox", different collectors think of different things.  I think of sports cars.  That is what I loved about Matchbox as a kid, and that is what I love about Matchbox now.  Granted, the last couple of years have seen a lot smaller numbers of sports cars, but thankfully the team is giving us a couple new models in 2013.

This Porsche casting comes from the last "golden age" of Matchbox, at least for a sports car guy.  2007, when the 911 GT3 debuted, was right in the middle of it.  Lotus, Audi R8, Bentley, an Alfa Romeo.  Lots of cool stuff.

And while some collectors wonder whether Matchbox still has its touch, the team goes out and throws this beauty our way.  Some might not like the orange spoiler, but all in all this model is fantastic.  Full tampo print too.  This may be my favorite model of the 60th line so far...
