First Look: Hot Wheels Boulevard '55 Corvette & Pontiac Fiero...

Well, you probably haven't seen the iconic and beautiful '55 Corvette paired too often with a quirky 80's-mobile, the Pontiac Fiero (an icon for completely different reasons).  But why not?

Both of these were featured in last year's Boulevard series, and both...uh...have four wheels.  We will stop the comparisons there.  At least these two span the expansive spectrum that Hot Wheels is giving us lately.  The '55 Vette is a no-brainer.  It is a beautiful car, and should be a Hot Wheels car.  I am surprised it took this long to be made.

The Fiero comes from a completely different time and while it doesn't share the classy heritage of a 1950's Vette, has a strong following of its own.  It is another perfect Hot Wheels car.  I am really glad they brought this casting back, as well as released more and more 80's and even '90's era cars, like the DeLorean, IROC Camaro, '92 E30, Honda CR-X, '87 Toyota Truck, and even KITT.

So with all this, what do you want to see next?

Well, let's see...

How about an updated whale-tail 911 Turbo?
An updated Ford RS Cosworth?

An early '80's Civic (or Accord)?

A "more" stock NSX? (Get those lace wheels ready...)

Late-90's era Prelude?  (One of my favorite 90's Japanese cars, along with the next one...)

Updated 300ZX?

Yes, I know I jump mainly across the Pacific with my choices.  Anyone want help me with some US ideas?  My brain keeps getting clouded with bad Buicks and Oldsmobiles.

Back to the task at hand.  While it can't top the first version in red, this whitewall Vette with gold flames is great, and I actually prefer this new two-toned Fiero to last year's version in red.  Go figure...
